I'm all about apps and what the latest releases are for the iPhone and when I learned about the Know The Signs “Breathalyzer” app for iPhone, I just had to check it out. Because, obviously, it's a life saver ! I myself don't drink very often but I know some major party animals that seriously need this app to be a required app on their iPhones!

This year, Heineken created the "Breathalyzer"iPhone app, after last year’s successful campaign -Enjoy Heineken Responsibly. The Know The Signs “Breathalyzer” turns your iPhone into a realistic breathalyzer with an intelligent and humorous way of reminding you or your drinking buddy that you've had a little too much to drink. Just by blowing into your iPhone “Breathalyzer” the app shows which character you are turning into, reminding you to know the signs. Everyone knows these embarassing characters that rear their ugly heads from too much drinking or a night on the town - The Crier, The Fighter, The Sleeper, The Exhibitionist, The Groper , The Flirt and The Stumbler. The Breathalyzer is a fun way and a fun app that gets you to drink responsibly, one of Heineken's well know slogans. And guess what? Their app is free! Download the Heineken Breathalyzer iPhone app at the itunes store - YES, for free or check out more info about it at The Heineken Know The Signs website .

wendy presseisenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09369257851725680545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3761498761771142335.post-27045610021785764322010-01-12T10:15:00.000-05:002010-01-12T10:15:56.730-05:00marketing :: scratch & sniff goes peel & taste
We've all scratched and sniffed.. I'm talking about product samples found in magazines and sometimes even found on the products themselves. A great idea in marketing to preview the products before we buy. But what an even better idea to put flavor strips on the product's sheves so that we could actually TASTE the products first.

WILLY WONKA would be proud. When Adnan Aziz saw people licking orange-flavoured wallpaper in the film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, it gave him the idea for a novel form of advertising. Together with Jay Minkoff, an entrepreneur, he set up First Flavor, a firm that makes edible films that allow consumers to sample the flavours of foods, drinks and other products.

The Campbell Soup Company was faced with the challenge of marketing V8's V-Fusion® juice brands. With V8's image as a producer of vegetable juice engrained into the minds of the general public, V8 needed to find a way to raise awareness about its new and great tasting fruit and vegetable juice products among consumers. The company turned to First Flavor to create a V8® V-Fusion® Pomegranate Blueberry Peel ‘n Taste® strip to be used in conjunction with point-of-sale coupons .

Solution

Teaming with News America Marketing (NAM) and First Flavor, V8 launched an in-store promotion in 300 Kroger retail supermarket stores across the southeastern United States during the months of March and April, 2008. The unique marketing endeavor featured custom branded NAM's Shelftake OneTM coupon dispensers with flyers affixed with V-Fusion® Pomegranate Blueberry Peel ‘n Taste® flavor strips.

If you are like me and an avid movie watcher then probably by now you are starting to switch your dvd collections to blu ray instead of the standard hd dvd format. Technically, what exactly is the difference? I was wondering that too. While current optical disc technologies such as DVD, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and DVD-RAM rely on a red laser to read and write data, this new format uses a blue-violet laser instead, hence the name Blu-ray. Despite the different type of lasers used, Blu-ray products can easily be made backwards compatible with CDs and DVDs through the use of a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical pickup unit. The benefit of using a blue-violet laser (405nm) is that it has a shorter wavelength than a red laser (650nm), which makes it possible to focus the laser spot with even greater precision. This allows data to be packed more tightly and stored in less space, so it's possible to fit more data on the disc even though it's the same size as a CD/DVD. This together with the change of numerical aperture to 0.85 is what enables Blu-ray Discs to hold 25GB/50GB. Recent development by Pioneer has pushed the storage capacity to 500GB on a single disc by using 20 layers. The format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. This extra capacity combined with the use of advanced video and audio codecs offers an unprecedented HD experience.

You may have backup copies of your regular dvds, but why not safeguard your precious movie collections by creating backup copies of the blu rays too? 123CopyDVD offers software that does just that. With 123 Media Max software you can:
Basically a set of stacking tableware for four persons that becomes a centerpiece for the dining room, forming a ball in different colors (brown, white, red brown) when not in use. 19 pieces in total, including plates, side dishes and bowls in different sizes and they are marked underneath each piece "Villeroy & Boch, avant garde, made in Germany".Unfortunately sold out at furniture love. They just make life simpler! So imagine having a cell phone that allows you to make calls, send texts, use the internet, use Social Media, take pictures or video, AND one that also has a music player with Dolby Mobile technology for crystal-clear sound quality? Well you don't have to dream about it any longer. Thanks to LG and it's new LG Chocolate Touch that does all those things and more. This little phone packs a whole lot of features into it that will put your present phone to shame - starting with Dolby Mobile technology featuring high frequency enhancer, natural bass, mobile sound and a customizable equalizer making listening to music almost as good as hearing it live! Plus it has great visual effects and features too, including Rhythmical Beat that vibrates the handset to the beat of the music, a one-touch Social Network Message Key for easy use of Mobile Blogging on popular social media websites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.. And did I mention it's Mobile Media with top-notch text, picture, video, and voice messaging, including Visual Voicemail, and a sweet 3.2MP Camera/Recorder for quality pictures and videos, with an image editor that makes taking pictures and shooting videos a piece of cake? Hey, it's got some better features then my iPhone! I want one! And getting ready to celebrate the New Year at the end of the week, too! So what's more apropos then this clever Christmas Tree created by the Heineken Beer Company? This gargantuan green glass (and all these bottles are full too!) Christmas Tree stands at the front of the Nanjing road mall in Shanghai.

Heineken has always been clever with its beer bottles; Warren has written how in the sixties they considered redesigning them to work as bricks. Now in China, they are using them to build Christmas trees - right now these bottles are full - yet soon to be recycled (I wonder how this tree will be looking at midnight on New Years Eve?!) How JUST COOL!

Have you ever wanted to make your own movie but were intimidated by all that it entails? Well now movie making couldn't be easier because there's a website that lets you make your own movies.Moviestorm is a fun and easy way to make movies from short clips, music videos and personal video greetings to full-length epics! It requires no movie making expertise at all, nor animation experience and the basic set up is free. There are some charges if you wish to add extra characters, props or other animations but if you pay for a subscription plan, the fees are a lot cheaper. And if you still feel intimidated and want to make it even simpler there's Photostorm which allows you to put your photos into a movie. Moviestorm has a lot to offer its customers. Have an idea in your head and want to put it onto the screen? Start by building your set from a library of ready-to-use stock sets, including interiors, exteriors, even spaceships. You can add props and save your sets to put in other videos too. Then create your characters from Moviestorms vast library. You can even morph them to customize their look. Then bring it all together and direct the action. You can have your characters interact and speak - theres even lip synching! Last, it's time to film the movie and Moviestorm makes it easy with its powerful camera tools to create a cinematic look. You can edit your movie with sound effects, titles and credits, soundtracks and more. All in all, its really quite simple. So check it out - and see how easy movie making can be.
Today I am doing my MAJOR shopping (yes, I am a procrastinator!) and I'm searching the web for some unique ideas. Was I happy when I found this Yamaha PDX-60 Speaker Dock. This nifty dock lets you experience your iPhone/iPod through it's powerful speaker system with no sound delays while easily enjoying all of your favorite games, music and movies...wirelessly! Infact I would love this for myself - but I have several iPhone people on my list that I know would love it too! With the powerful Yamaha PDX-60 Speaker Dock we'll be able to enjoy media wirelessly from anywhere in the room. The exclusive Yamaha yAired (tm) wireless technology connects you quickly and with no sound delays. The sound is high quality too with deep, rich bass. I use my iphone for all kinds of multi media tasking - like watching videos on youtube, playing my sons rpg game, Ravensword, watching tv and movies on Hulu and listening to Pandora as well as listening to my own music files on my iPod.So this is a definite MUST HAVE. And did I mention that it is easy to use?Just a few of it's great features include a speaker that can be placed in any out-of-the-way location, easy operation (auto power on/off and volume control sync), a transmitter unit that is small enough that you can carry the iPod/iPhone around and talk on the iPhone with the transmitter attached, a cradle for setting the iPod/iPhone on a table, etc.. Your iPod can charge from both speaker and cradle and has a card-type remote unit that is convenient for your iPod operation. Plus it has low power consumption and it looks good too with four color variations to match your iPod and room.Okay I have convinced myself and have made the shopping a lot easier. I'll get one for each of the iPhone/iPod people on my list and I'm covered. I'll be well loved too ;) because the Yamaha PDX-60 Speaker Dock is JUST COOL and makes the perfect gift!

wendy presseisenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09369257851725680545noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3761498761771142335.post-66658027281371081382009-12-04T08:36:00.000-05:002009-12-04T08:36:04.002-05:00gardening :: thrifty and nifty
What a nifty idea! These pictures snapped by the officer are no bull either. It's a true story - bringing a new meaning to "pimp my ride" ...
They look beautiful on their own or in a cluster, perfect for a dinner table, mantle or window ledge. They can also be used with a tealight candle inside or as a vase. Each Bambina measures approximately 10cm in diameter. $26. Find them at Zakiah's Popkraft Etsy Shop.
With so many different fast food places out there, the decision can be tough. But Eating the Road comes to the rescue with it's carefully thought out (and amusing as well) flowchart that makes navigating the fast food chain a piece of cake. It's based on queries like “Are you drunk?”, “Do you have more than $3” and "Is it Sunday?". If you can follow the maze of questions it will direct you to your best fast food restaurant choice. Is it accurate? Well...if you live out in the sticks like I do, it isn't . Damn, we need a Chick-Filet around here. And a DQ, a Sonic, a White Castle ......
Instead of checking the newspaper for weird news, I skip it and go directly to Craigslist. So because Turkey Day is right around the corner, I thought that this cute little fella would make a newsworthy tidbit...

Meet Jerry. Lyndsey Medeiros and her husband adopted the three-year-old turkey and his girlfriend Penelope from a Rhode Island farm last week. But Jerry has cataracts, and his eye problems mean he can't eat independently or join his female companion, for fun and flying.

Medeiros has posted an ad on Craigslist seeking donations for the surgery. She said the procedure could cost up to $2,600. Her farm in Rehoboth, Mass., cares for other animals with health problems. "My husband and I rescued a 3 year old Turkey from an add on craigslist last week. I realized that he had a bluish tint to his eyes, he walked into things and had a hard time eating and drinking on his own and after brining him to a veterinary opthamologist it was discovered that he has cataracts that can be corrected with surgery. We would not be even contemplating surgery for Jerry unless it greatly improved his quality of life, but right now he needs full assistance to eat and drink and is pretty sedentary because of his lack of vision. Unfortunately surgery costs upwards of $2600, which is a little out of our reach for us for an animal that otherwise possibly would have ended up on someones dinner table. We are accepting donations to go towards Jerry's surgery and care afterwards..." So, if you are interested in not eating but helping a turkey this Thanksgiving, then go here to reply to the craigslist ad. And BTW, we're skipping the turkey this year and eating lobster. YUMMMMM.
Take a look back at this JUST COOL blog aptly titled MY PARENTS WERE AWESOME. It's a photo blog of snapshots sent in of parents in their youth - before they had kids. It covers the spectrum - from the turn of the century to the late 1980's and the photos are themselves awesome and will leave you with a smile on your face. Here are just a few...
I just discovered the coolest product!Perfect for me because selling on eBay and Etsy , I take A LOT of photos with my digital camera and am constantly uploading them. Plus, I love to snap photos of everything and everyone where ever I go! But no matter how much I love TAKING photos, I can't stand the tedious, time consuming task of uploading them first to my computer and then to the internet. But now theres a quicker way to upload photos right from my camera and directly to the web and I can be anywhere to do it too. It's a little memory card called the The Eye-Fi card and it's the first wireless memory card ever invented. It stores media, fits into digital cameras and even looks just like a regular SD/SDHC card. On top of that, the Eye-Fi card has built-in Wi-Fi that uses your wireless network to effortlessly transfer photos and videos. It automatically uploads your photos and videos to your computer and to the web. You can choose from 25 websites, including Flickr, Facebook, Picasa and more. It stores a whopping 4 GB of photos - thats up to 2000 photos and almost any digital camera is compatible with it. Sounds cool? You can read more about it at the official Eye-Fi website and watch the video here. Now I'm thinking of what a great gift this will be for my picture taking friends, family and everyone else on my Christmas list (including me!). This product is definitely JUST COOL!
Ensuring that the water hits its target and not everywhere else.. They're also pretty unsightly, so why not make a watering can thatlooks like a work of art too? French-born Pascal Charmolu came up with the antidote: This beautifully streamlined, practical design. Made of 18-0 stainless steel, this can features a flexible silicone hose with a built-in magnet that allows it to be attached to the can’s body when not in use. When watering your plants, simply hold the metal cylinder with one hand and the hose in the other. Move the metal cylinder up or down to cease water flow. Pascal is the other half of Born in Sweden, a new design house from Europe that has just opened up in the North American market.A pretty slick looking watercan, don't ya think?
