transportation::what a bunch of bull

Yet another reason why they have to bring motor vehicle inspection back in Oklahoma - to keep bulls from riding down the road.

This bull was caught in the act riding in his owners car by off duty police officer Donald Kraft. According to Kraft's report the driver was transporting the bull so that his daughter could ride it in the National History Day parade in Tulsa (see the letters stamped on the side of the bull). These pictures snapped by the officer are no bull either. It's a true story - bringing a new meaning to "pimp my ride" ...

just weird:: humungous head lice

Head Lice? Crazy!

Not. It's the Giant Isopod, abundant in the cold, deep waters of the Atlantic. In Northern Taiwan and other areas, these up to fifteen inch critters are not uncommon at seaside restaurants, served boiled - The white meat being similar to crab or lobster in texture. They look creepy...but I bet they taste delicious.

Anthony Bourdain, bring on the butter! These creatures are JUST COOL!

camping :: how to get eaten by a bear

Eiko Shizawa created the Great Sleeping Bear - a sleeping bag that looks like a real black bear!
About her unusual sleeping bag Eiko writes: this bear sleeping bag is the metaphor of the changes between being eaten by a bear, being a bear, who killed a bear and wearing a bear skin, or who sees it and wants to hunt the bear.

 I don't know about you but I won't be sleeping in a bear anytime soon. When I was just a wee baby, my brave five year old brother saved me from the jaws of a big old bear in Yellowstone Park. It wasn't Yogi or Boo Boo either - it was the real deal! So I'll pass on this JUST COOL sleeping bag and word to the wize - don't sleep in this while camping in bear infested campgrounds. May attract attention...

animals :: the tiniest bambi

This tiny handful of innocence caught my eye because he reminds me so much of my little dog, Poppy Petunia. (Yup, that little girl on the left, that my blog is named after).
Sweet little Rupert, the baby Muntjac fawn was born 3 weeks premature after ceasarean section at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in Buckinghamshire when his mom was struck by a car and later died. But Rupert, who weighed in at a little over 17 ounces and stood just 6 inches high, was a trooper and hung in there, being tube fed and kept in an incubator on oxygen. Sadly, he didn't survive. " Dicing with death since his birth, little Rupert had all the symptoms of a premature human baby — his lungs weren’t inflating properly and problems materialized when he was unable to ingest the lamb’s milk staff had been feeding him because he needed his mother’s bacteria. " Awww, how very SAD!

architecture :: cows in space

It's called KUHUUNST or Cow Art. Six brown cows grazing on the grassy side of Sprelacart Restaurant, a five story structure in Prenzlauerberg Germany. Vertically no less! Sergej Alexander installed his herd of life-size plaster cows on the building, making us wonder which way is up and which way is North. From all the scientific hooplah in August about cows having an inner compass and their innate ability to point themselves North, this herd seems to be breaking all the rules. But I guess anything goes these days - with global warming and all ;)

Cows that are JUST COOL. An amazing artistic slight of hand - how the heck did they get those cows up there?!

Who do you want to be this Halloween?

art - painted by hand

It's a bird, its a plane... no, really...it's a hand!

The creator of these amazing and realistic works of art is hand painter, artist GUIDO DANIELE. Yes, amazingly enough, they are painted on hands and with such meticulous attention to detail - from every tiny hair in the fur, to the sparkling glint in each eye, that these animals seem to take on a life all their own. Italian born Danielle began this unusual mode of painting back in 1972 and then in 1999 broadened his work to include "body painting" where he paints models for advertising , commercials, fashion events and exhibitions. See more of his work at his website GuidoDaniele.com

It's amazing! And JUST COOL

as time went on they became more ornate
and evolved into fanciful figures

they became door jewelry
or doorbling as it is known today ;)

devil

or angel

religous icons

and stylized animals
foxy ones

creepy snake ones

i love the unusual ones like this seahorse
