Calling all Techies! If you are a developer,whether it be student, professional or hobbyist, IDUG is sponsoring a contest to increase awareness and familiarity with XQuery, XML and DB2. The contest has five separate tracks for individuals of varying skill levels and you can enter one track or all depending on just how ambitious you are. Here's your chance to earn glory and fame in the developers world! Each of the contests offers its own recognition and set of prizes. The range of skills encompasses those with a passing interest in XML and database technology to those with hardcore programming skills in DB2. The tracks include:
- Video Contest: Upload a video, judged by the community, prizes are awarded monthly.
- Gadget Contest: Create a small widget or gadget, judged by the community, prizes also awarded monthly.
- XQuery Challenge: Answer a series of questions by developing queries in XQuery.
- Port an Application: Port an existing application to use XML, XQuery or DB2.
- Develop an application: Develop a brand new application using XML and/or XQuery.
Not only will you earn well deserved recognition by entering the IDUG contest , also great for your portfolio/career etc., but there are thousands of dollars in prizes to be won too, from Wiis to complimentary technical conferences.
