This amazing floor in Japan has the look of a crystal clear pool of water with smooth pebbles covering the bottom. We know of course that you can't walk on water, but here it sure looks like you can!
This architectural conversion by architects Hiroshi Nakamura and NAP co ltd was for a lobby entrance to an office building on the Tokyo waterfront of Ten-nousu. The inventive flooring effect was achieved by sealing stones in the floor base with clear epoxy resin. Cast like concrete in a thick 15 mm thick layer, this clever resin application transformed an other wise ordinary floor into one that gives the illusion of a crystal clear river bed.
Hey, did you see some minnows swimming around in there? This flooring is JUST COOL!
