Pets :: business monkeys

Monkey see, monkey do. Thats exactly how these monkeys learned their trade. Yat-chan and Fuku-chan are waiters at the Kaoru Otsuka sake house north of Tokyo. They bring hot towels and serve drinks to the customers and although they are not good waiters, the customers say that they are better than bad waiters. The two are the pets of the 63-year-old owner of the tavern, Kaoru Otsuka and are certified by the local authorities to work there. The monkey duo works a maximum of two hours per day, monkeying around concientiously for just peanuts...ur..uh..boiled soybeans in tips, which seems to keep them and the owner happy.

"Yat-chan first learned by just watching me working in the restaurant. It all started when one day I gave him a hot towel out of curiosity and he brought the towel to the customer," the owner told Reuters.

Monkey Business - it's JUST COOL!
