What do you do with an old vinyl LP that no one listens to anymore? Four years ago two designers who met at the Fashion Institute of Technology began making jewelry out of it. I like that concept - if you don't know what to do with useless stuff, turn it into jewelry. Thats exactly what these clever boys did and now they have a successfully hip little business with an urban feel called Wrecords by Monkey. WBM, owned by Patick Chirico and Brian Farrell aims to be good to the environment and creates handmade accessories with a low carbon footprint that can be incorporated into anyone’s individual style. The Brooklyn based design company uses reclaimed vinyl records to make their niche product, the Wrecord bracelet, which comes in several styles to suit every hipsters (and non-hipsters too) taste. Their expanding inventory also includes necklaces, earrings, rings and t-shirts, all inspired by the idea of relating to music lovers of every generation, and doing it by recycling "old music".
check out their vinyl goodness over at WBM- it's JUST COOL!
