architecture :: swanky silo

silomain1
I love tiny houses! This tiny house is made even cooler because it was once a grain silo and is now a one bedroom loft at the Gruene Homestead Inn. In 2007 the inn purchased this lowly metal grain container, moved and reinvented it into an upscale and unique lodging experience for their guests.The silo has a queen bed, a full sized sofa-bed, stand up shower, two sinks, wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, private porch and can be rented for $175/$210.

design :: sink savvy

Okay...so how cool is this? Neve kills two birds with one stone in the bathroom with this ingenious towel bar faucet. I love things that do double duty and this one does!
The Canali modular faucet from Neve is brilliantly JUST COOL! The design puts two hollow tubes together into one bathroom accessory. The spout of the faucet is extended along the wall to form a towel rack and the pipe is modular, so you can mix and match pieces to create any shape you want to fit the design of your bathroom.

ebay :: extreme cave home for sale

In December of 2003 Kurt and Deborah Sleeper purchased a St. Louis Missouri 15,000 square foot cave for about $160,000 on Ebay. Now, 6 years later after spending over five years turning the cave into a livable home and offices, and living in it for less than one, (and giving birth to their third child in it just last week!) the couple is forced to sell, due to the economy. And they are selling it on...you guessed it....Ebay!
.

Check out their eBay Cave Home Auction here and see and read all about caveland here. It is amazing and JUST COOL!

Kitchens :: kitchen in a cupboard

Just the smallest kitchen evah! The Mini Kitchen.
Yestertec Design Company builds a complete mini-kitchen  concealed inside it's Kitchen Armoire that can be custom styled to blend with the décor of any interior. This clever U.L. listed "kitchen in a cupboard" conceals a solid surface worktop with an under-mounted stainless sink, a 2-burner 120V cooktop, an over-the-range 120v oven/hood, an under-counter refrigerator, and a dishwasher/drawer for ample storage, to boot! Everything you need to get cooking in your small space. It may seem pricey at around $10,000 but when you consider the price of a new kitchen installation, even just a kitchen remodel, it's a steal. And you can take it with you when you move. Great for a guest house, in law apt., even your inhome office. How JUST COOL is this?!

cool product :: heating it up

Here in Upstate New York, the cold weather already has us bundling up in warm clothing, piling on the blankets and yup, cranking the heat up. This weekend it was in the low 40's, with snowflakes flying up in the Adirondacks. But I found some really cool heaters that will keep us warm. They're over at Deltacalor, an Italian company ( of course, don't most cool designs come from Italy?)

This uber cool radiator , called Calorisfero sure doesn't look like your ordinary radiator. It's design of spiralized steel hugging natural wood compliments the modern interior, warming it up with good looks as well as comfortable radiant heating.

Its so warm and toasty that it's JUST COOL!

cool product :: a futuristic toilet

Mrs. Hudson took first place in a Russian design competition recently. No, she isn't the designer, Mrs. Hudson is the name of this sleek futuristic product, a toilet. Was it named after the woman who was stuck on the toilet for two years? We will never know.

Anyway, its about time the common crapper aka bland toilet, got a much needed overhaul in the design department.

It's JUST COOL!

building :: gross recycling

To the butt-crack-showing, never-asking-for-directions man with the roll of duck tape in his back pocket and a strip around his shoes to keep the soles from falling off, this do it yourself Jacuzzi is for you!

The Dumpster Jacuzzi

Who else could turn a filthy rusted out garbage can into such a lovely bubbly hot tub.

It's just gross. And a little JUST COOL!
