art :: houses made of garlic

I've been a fan of Carl Warner for a while now. This popular food artist / photographer manipulates salmon fillets, garlic cloves and brocoli florets into fantastic sureal landscapes and then photographs them. So it's nice to see he's just added six more images to his ever popular (and tasty!) "foodscape" menu! These are a few of his latest -

Garlicshire

Fishscape

Bread and Cheese

ravioli air balloon

Made entirely of vegetables, meat, dairy and fish, Warner's foodscapes look so real you really have to take a second look to descern what edibles you are actually looking at!
"Foodscapes started out as personal project where I wanted to highlight the idea of implied design within the natural world, the qualities within organic forms,' said the Kent UK based 44-year-old. 'For me, the forms, shapes, patterns and structures of everything from DNA molecules to fingerprints, from tornadoes to spiral galaxies all point to a much bigger picture."

art :: incredible edible landscapes

What's for dinner tonight? How about one of these incredible edible landscapes by Carl Warner?

#1: Broccoli trees bearing pea fruits in front of bread mountains. Yummm...

#2: Carrot stalactites and crustacean rocks over cauliflower reefs. Some melted butter please...

#3: Rice fields and a wall masoned with mixed nuts.

#4: Sweet potatoes and cabbage leaves - always a tasty combnation

#5: A salmon sea.... framed with dill trees

#6: Cheese farmhouses, chile pepper conifers, and a mushroom wagon wheel.

#7: pepper paradise...

#8: The crop rows are asparagus stalks, corn cobs, and what looks like zucchini.

#9: This last world, not quite as healthy but every bit as beautiful, is made from cold cuts and bread sticks.

You can see more of Carls work on his website.

art :: its a bacon world

If you haven't noticed lately, Bacon, that lowly yet crispy and delicious morning food that we all know and love , has worked its way up from sitting helplessly on the breakast plate to the latest fad in just about everything.I have seen bacon band aids, bacon soap, bacon air freshener, bacon soda, bacon socks and now the Master of foodscapes , Carl Warner has caught on and has created his own breathtaking "Baconscape".
Like all of his other fantastic landscapes (including veggie scapes too!) this master of edible illusion makes this cool landscape believable (I bet at first glance, you didn't even know it was made from bacon.!)
Painting with bacon - it's JUST COOL!
