cool product :: the yoke shopper

The perfect solution for the shopaholic! When just two hands are not enough to lug all those bags, this clever contraption becomes your third. It's the Yoke Shopper.

Small enough to throw in a handbag or slip into a pocket, the Yoke Shopper is essentially nothing more than a plastic hook with a retractable strap. The lightweight device has been ergonomically designed to fit an average person’s left or right hand, so it can be used simply to distribute the weight of multiple bags and stop them cutting into one's fingers. Alternatively, the shoulder strap can be pulled out to the required length at the push of the orange button to free up your hands to answer your cell, retrieve the car keys or any other thing you need to do.

Very JUST COOL!  (Thinking this would be great for flea market shopping!)

Candy :: buy it on the web!

Back in the day (Yup, I'm that old!) candy was a precious commodity for us kids. A few miles up the road toward Saratoga there was (and still is) a charming old country store that my family would hit on the way to our weekend outings. It had a whole section of drawers, bins and barrels filled with penny candy. We'd fill our bags with licorice pipes, necco wafers,wax lips,boston baked beans,atomic fireballs,bazooka bubblegum,candy cigarettes and necklaces,wax drink bottles, pixie stix and more.
There wasn't a huge selection but what there was was enough to keep our little sweet tooths satisfied and occupied for hours and keep us out of our parents hair for the scenic ride, not to mention that it also kept my dentist, Dr. Schlansker is business as well. Well things have changed in the world of candy. Yes, The Country Store is still there, but that wonderful selection of those old fashioned favorites has been drastically reduced and replaced by the new fangled candy of today. Sugarless candy, space age, state of the art candy. Candy that I wouldn't even consider candy. So thank goodness for the internet, where everything - even the old fashioned favorites are still available!
Sugar Stand is one such candy shop. You can shop and drool right from the comfort of your computer chair.They have a HUGE selection of all kinds of candy - even my favorite nostalgic brands! Sugar Stand is a one stop shop for sweets, stocking over 2000 different candies and continually updating their selections so whatever you crave, they will probably have. It's also the ideal place to buy your bulk candy for special events, parties, fund raisers and more. Or just stock up for yourself and family. So if you have a sweet tooth - check it out!

Shopping :: Christopher Radko at Kmart!

Looks like Mr. Bluelight is at it again,spreading Holiday cheer with great savings at Kmart. I remember shopping at Kmart ages ago and always hearing that familiar voice over the intercom, "Attention Kmart shoppers" announcing their famous blue light special. The special only lasted for 5 minutes or so but it was always something you thought you needed and you'd race to wherever the blinking blue light was set up and stock up on that item. They no longer run those blue light specials but instead have adopted cute Mr. Bluelight as their Kmart mascot. Mr. Bluelight's job is highlighting quality Kmart offers and providing individual customers with friendly guidance for all their shopping needs. With Kmart prices so low already, they really don't need the blue light specials anymore. And with all the great brandname items they offer and their cool layaway program, Christmas shopping couldn't be easier!

One item I was hugely surprised to see Kmart carrying this year is the Christopher Radko ornaments. I have collected these fabulous glass ornaments for many years and they were only available at upscale boutiques and gift shops. Now Kmart is offering a special line - Celebrations by Radko, a unique assortment of boxed glass ornaments, made exclusively for Kmart. With the great selection they have and my potential tree waiting to be trimmed, I'll have to get a few boxes of the Christopher Radko ornaments PLUS a few more to give as hostess gifts at all the Christmas parties this year. I don't mind if it all adds up because Kmart offers that great Kmart Layaway Plan and I can pay on them right up until Christmas when they will be going up on the trees. So it works out perfectly!

I can't wait to get on over there and check out those new ormaments because - their JUST COOL!

shopping :: savings this weekend

Wow! I was just checking out the Sears store online and noticed they are having a super sale that runs this Veterans Day weekend, November 9th through November 11th. Here's the wow part. Sears is taking 60% off on all outerwear and sweaters for the whole family. So I'm getting my list together because Libby needs a new jacket and a few sweaters (I saw this cute hoodie that I think she will love), Rebecca is always needing a few sweaters to weather the cold in and of course don't forget about moi! Maybe I'll pick up a few sweaters too (I like that classic looking red one on the right).

Years ago I rarely shopped at Sears. I always thought of it as an old lady's clothing store or a place where Grandpa bought all his tools and his lawn tractor and Mom and Dad got all their major appliances. But things have changed over the past few years. Sears has really updated itself. Now they carry brand name clothing like Lands End, South Pole, Appostrophe and Covington - hey, I even saw some Harve Benard in there. They aren't an "Old Fogey" store anymore. Now they have some design savvy! And they are always up to date on all the latest brand name electronics and toys for the kids. So yeah, I'm headed over to the Sears Veterans Day Sale first thing Sunday morning. With all the money I'll be saving, I can take everyone out to dinner! This sale is JUST COOL!

shopping :: k-mart offers smart shopping

I can't believe that Christmas is less than two months away!My grandchildren, Aven and Calla, have already made out their lists for Santa Claus and I'm busy checking out what all the stores have to offer. This year will be tighter then usual. With my sales down and the groceries,electricity bill and general living expenses up, I'll have to be more frugal about spending when it comes to gift giving. So I decided to check out the K-Mart website which always has great prices for brand name items and is a great one stop shopping site for everyone on my Christmas list, especially the kiddies. I even found the red Radio Flyer car that I had wanted to get them last year for Christmas and it's priced right, too, just $129.00! Plus they have a great payment option called the Kmart Lay-Away plan which makes things a whole lot easier on the pocketbook. I don't think I've ever heard of any other stores offering such a smart payment plan. Here's how it works. First you find the item you want to purchase, then you bring it to the layaway department in the store which is located at Customer Service. You make your down payment and then every two weeks make another payment until your item is paid for and you take it home. How easy is that? I definitely think I'm going to purchase this cute radio flyer car on K-mart's lay away plan. In tough times like this, what a great idea lay away is. It just makes life a little easier!

And the Radio Flyer car - the kids are gonna love it! It's JUST COOL!
