iphone :: capture a color!

When was the last time you saw a color that you loved, wanted, just had to have to paint a room or a piece of furniture? It happens to me all the time! Now you can use the ben® Color Capture™ app for iPhone where you just take a photo of the "thing" you like the color of, and it finds that coordinating color in the Benjamin Moore Paint Line. The app even goes beyond that to find the best coordinating colors, where to find a dealer and more. I always use Benjamin Moore anyway because the paint has great coverage and their colors are the best, so I downloaded the app and am i appy! Check out the video for Capture-a-color that explains it better than I can.

Love this app! It's brilliantly JUST COOL!

pets :: canine camo

Canine camouflage goes to the extreme in these cute sheared pups. Powdered non permanent spray paint is used to transform these poodles into animals like...
a panda
a camel
a bison
a horse
and an iguana.
It takes only about two hours for the creative groomers to carve, coiff and color these doggy  masterpieces  and add props for the finishing touch. Animal photographer Ren Netherland has been shooting the dogs for ten years now and  travels thousands of miles every year photographing these shear beauties at "creative grooming" shows.
It's weird but JUST COOL!

art :: 100 tons of paint on the walls

It's stunning, it's staggering and grandiose both in design and cost! The commissioned artwork for the domed ceiling of the Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room in the United Nations offices in Geneva stoked controversy over the spending of over 18m euros to create it. The pricey ceiling took over 100 tons of paint layered on anextra strength aluminum dome to come to fruition.

Spanish artist Miquel Barcelo took over a year to create his abstact 3D Michelangelo like masterpiece. When asked about his source of inspiration, he stated, "On a day of immense heat in the middle of the Sahel desert, I recall with vivacity the mirage of an image of the world dripping toward the sky - Trees, dunes, donkeys, multicoloured beings flowing drop by drop."

Like stalagtites in a psychedelic cave, this ceiling is JUST COOL - Hope it doesn't puncture anyone!

WITHOUT DOORS

We couldn't enter
do we want to?
Nor could we leave

its pretty here...lets not...

Nor could we keep things out

awww...he's cute...lets not keep him out

Without doors we couldn't keep

little girls like calla from raiding the fridge
(however these doors don't seem to keep her out)

the grandkids away from messes
(aven & calla, my young artists at work)

they're having so much fun sooooo...whatever! Get into the paint closet!

Doors hide clutter

although these mugs are cool - why would you want to hide them?

Doors keep us safe
how easy would it be to pick this lock?

When I was young no one locked their doors - city or country. Life was safer back then of course.

But everyone did have doors.

except Josh & Sasha - still without doors ;)
